60-minute therapy session:

I understand that financial circumstances vary. For clients experiencing genuine financial hardship, I offer flexible fee arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Rebates & Funding
Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
If you have a MHCP, please contact me for your reduced rate.
At present, psychotherapists and counsellors are not recognised as 'allied health professionals' by Medicare and therefore are not eligible to provide Medicare rebates under a mental health care plan.
However, you may find that my reduced session fee is often similar to - if not less than - the typical out-of-pocket cost (the 'gap' payment) you might incur when seeing a psychologist under a mental health care plan.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
I am registered with most major private health funds, like BUPA, Medibank, HCF, and ahm. If you have private health insurance, check with your fund to see whether you can claim for counselling or psychotherapy.
If your health fund does provide cover for these services, just note that claims aren’t processed at the time of your session. Instead, you’ll receive a receipt after each session, which you can submit to your insurer for your rebate. I’m happy to help if you have any questions about the process.
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)
Many employers offer free and confidential counselling through Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). To see if you’re eligible, simply check with your HR team or look on your company’s intranet for details about your workplace’s EAP provider.
I work with several EAP providers, including Converge International, Eudoxia, Clearhead, TELUS Health, and Mindway EAP. If your workplace uses one of these providers, just let the EAP service know that you’d like to have your sessions with Cassowary Coast Counselling.
WorkCover Queensland
Cassowary Coast Counselling is an approved WorkCover Queensland provider for psychological injury. Sessions are free if you are accessing counselling or psychotherapy through WorkCover Queensland. Please click here for more information.
