Confidentiality and Ethics
I am committed to providing you with the highest standard of care.
Counsellors are bound by the code of ethics prescribed by their professional body. This ensures that your therapist has ongoing clinical supervision and training. This includes being a Member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
Your confidentiality and privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We assure you that all discussions and records are private, confidential and securely stored. In exceptional circumstances we are required by law to break confidentiality if you present as a risk of serious harm to yourself and/or others. We will discuss confidentiality and exceptional circumstances with you prior to the beginning of counselling.
Should you contact us by email, we will endeavour to reply as soon as possible, however depending on the content of the email we may limit the content of the reply should we determine that it will be more beneficial and ethically appropriate to discuss the content in the context and boundaries of a formal session.
We are also unable to discuss your case with third parties - unless given written consent by you - due to confidentiality and privacy compliance.
